New Orleans

Grande Route St. John is the old high water street that runs from Bayou St. John into the city. It was originally an Indian trail. These pictures were all taken around the neighborhood during various visits.

This House still bears the FEMA X noting that it has been inspected following the flooding as a result of hurricane Katrina. The zero indicates that no victims were found.

The doors and shutters are part of the distinctive architecture of New Orleans

This marks the junction where the Bayou St. John meets the Grand Route St. John.
From here folks would travel into the French Quarter
